Matthias advises a wide range of corporate and private equity clients on all aspects of corporate law, restructurings and public takeovers. His practice also includes litigation in corporate law matters and the preparation of shareholders' meetings.

His advisory work has a particular emphasis on public takeovers, subsequent integration and structural measures. Matthias advised Fortum on the takeover offer to the shareholders of Uniper, KKR on the bid for GfK SE (2016) and subsequent squeeze out (2017) as well as Aalberts Industries on the bid for Impreglon SE (2014) and subsequent merger squeeze out (2015). Matthias also acted for abcfinance GmbH on its bid for Dresdner Factoring AG (2013) and the subsequent merger squeeze out (2015).

Matthias’ previous corporate reorganisation transactions include advising RWE in the pooling of business areas – renewable energy, grid and distribution – into a new affiliated company with a subsequent IPO (2015/2016) and the transformation of listed DO Deutsche Office AG into a German limited partnership (2016).
