Clemens provides comprehensive advice in both national and cross-border M&A transactions. One particular focus of his practice is advising financial investors, strategic investors and companies in transactions involving innovative and fast-growing technology companies, especially in the context of venture capital and growth financings.

His recent work on venture capital matters included, for instance, Accel's investments in Celonis, Tencent's investments in Scalable Capital, N26 and Lilium, and SE Ventures' investment in Ostrom, as well CMBlu's and ottonova's respective financing rounds. In addition, he advised the French fintech Qonto on the acquisition of its German competitor Penta, as well as the shareholders of the sales intelligence startup Echobot on its merger with Leadfeeder and the simultaneous investment by Great Hill Partners.

In private equity, Clemens most recently advised Silver Lake on its public takeover of Software AG, as well as LANXESS on a joint venture with Advent for high-performance engineering materials.
