Hengeler Mueller advises on financial restructuring of BIOPETROL Group

BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG has restructured a convertible bond, issued by its subsidiary BIOPETROL FINANCE B.V., in the total amount of € 75 m and, furthermore, implemented additional measures relative to the financial restructuring of the BIOPETROL Group. In advance of this, intensive discussions and negotiations with the bondholders had taken place. The majority shareholder of BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG has now acquired 99.1% of the bond which was, in this context, substantially restructured. The restructuring of the BIOPETROL Group is connected, inter alia, to additional capital and financing measures.

Hengeler Mueller advised BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG on the restructuring together with Görg Rechtsanwälte. The Hengeler Mueller team included partners Reinhold Ernst (Düsseldorf) and Daniel Weiß (Frankfurt).
