Hengeler Mueller advises Deutsche Bank on the new structure of its acquisition of a participation in Deutsche Postbank

On 12 September 2008, Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Post signed a contract under which Deutsche Bank has purchased from Deutsche Post a 29,75% participation in Deutsche Postbank. With respect to the remaining participation of Deutsche Post, the parties agreed on put options, call options and a right of first refusal.

With agreement dated 14 January 2009 Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Post have agreed on an improved transaction structure of Deutsche Bank’s acquisition of Deutsche Postbank AG shares.

Hengeler Mueller advised Deutsche Bank both on the original transaction in September 2008 and on the adjustment of the transaction structure in January 2009.
