Hengeler Mueller advises Axel Springer SE on acquisition of Business Insider

Axel Springer SE announced a binding agreement to purchase additional approximately 88% of the shares in US-based business- and news portal Business Insider for a purchase price of USD 343 m (currently approximately EUR 306 m). Axel Springer already holds a stake of approximately 9% in the company and, after this purchase, will hold a stake of approximately 97%. Business Insider is the leading digital offering for business news in the U.S. This acquisition is a vital part of Axel Springer’s strategy to expand its digital journalism offerings in English-language.
