Hengeler Mueller advises DONG Energy on offshore wind farm project “Borkum Riffgrund”

DONG Energy has decided to build the offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 1 in the German part of the North Sea. The construction will represent a total investment of approximately EUR 1.25 bn.

Borkum Riffgrund 1 will consist of up to 89 3.6 MW turbines from Siemens Wind Power with a total capacity of 320 MW. It will be able to supply CO2-free generated power corresponding to the annual power consumption of almost 330,000 German households.

Hengeler Mueller provides comprehensive advice to DONG Energy on the implementation of the project, including approval proceedings, conclusion of the construction and supply agreements as well as the grid connection.
