Hengeler Mueller advises EPH on acquisition of lignite operations from Vattenfall

Vattenfall has today signed an agreement to sell Vattenfall’s lignite operations to the Czech energy company EPH with its financial partner PPF Investments. Within the transaction, EPH Group together with PPF Investments will acquire four lignite-fired power stations with a total capacity of 8,000 MW from Vattenfall located in Eastern Germany and the associated open-cast mines in the Lausitz region.
