Hengeler Mueller secures European Commission merger control approval for Danfoss' acquisition of Eaton's global hydraulics business

The European Commission approved Danfoss A/S's (Denmark) acquisition of Eaton Corporation plc's global hydraulics business (headquartered in the US). The deal had been signed in January 2020. The approval followed an in-depth investigation (so-called "phase 2") and Danfoss' agreement to certain remedies.

Hengeler Mueller acted as EU antitrust counsel to Danfoss. Partner Markus Röhrig led the team out of Brussels. The team also included partner Hans-Joerg Niemeyer (Brussels) as well as associates Philipp Neideck, Christoph Wilken (both Brussels/Düsseldorf), Malcolm Tiffin-Richards, Lukas Ritzenhoff, Laura Stoicescu, Joachim Burger (all Brussels), Anja Balitzki, Sara Jungewelter (both Düsseldorf) and Malte Frank (Berlin) (all EU competition law).
