In tax compliance work, Matthias has helped clients in tax-related internal investigations and relevant communication with the tax authorities. Clients also regularly bring in Matthias to tax audits to help them respond to complex findings, most recently on transfer pricing issues and the treatment of a reorganisation under German real estate transfer tax. Contentious tax matters Matthias advises on include the enforcement of foreign investors' claims for the refund of German withholding tax.
