Hengeler Mueller advises Thomas Cook on acquisition of Öger Tours

On 12 July 2010, Thomas Cook Group plc announced that it has agreed to acquire 100% of Öger Tours GmbH from its founding shareholder Vural Öger. Thomas Cook is one of the world’s leading travel groups with sales of GBP 9.3 bn and 22.1 million customers. Öger Tours GmbH is a leading German tour operator specialising in package holidays to Turkey.

Hengeler Mueller is advising Thomas Cook on the merger control aspects of this transaction, in particular on European merger control. The Hengeler Mueller team includes partners Markus Röhrig and Christoph Stadler as well as associate Enno Ahlenstiel (all Düsseldorf).
