Hengeler Mueller advises Brambles on acquisition of IFCO

On 14 November 2010, the Australian-based Brambles Ltd., a global provider of supply chain and information management services, entered into agreements on the acquisition of 95.9% of the shares in German-listed IFCO Systems N.V. from Island International Investment Limited Partnership and certain other sellers. IFCO is an international provider of pooled reusable plastic containers (RPCs) to the food supply chain worldwide and of pallet services in the USA. Island International is majority owned by Apax advised funds.

The sale and transfer of the shares is still subject to customary approval requirements and other conditions. Furthermore, Brambles Investment Limited announced its intention to make a voluntary public tender offer to all shareholders of IFCO Systems N.V.
