Hengeler Mueller advises on Merger of Equals of GfK and TNS

GfK AG and Taylor Nelson Sofres plc, two global leaders in market information and insight, have announced their merger of equals. This merger will create a new, major market information group to be named GfK-TNS plc.

Hengeler Mueller is advising GfK AG and its principle shareholder GfK-Nürnberg e.V. on this merger. The Hengeler Mueller team is led by partners Christof Jäckle (Corporate/M&A, Frankfurt) and Bernd Wirbel (Corporate/M&A, London) and includes partners Karsten Schmidt-Hern (Corporate/M&A, Frankfurt), Alf-Henrik Bischke (Competition, Brussels), Hermann-Josef Tries (Tax, Frankfurt) and counsel Mathias Link (Tax, Frankfurt) as well as associates Andreas Löhde-fink, Jens von Lackum (both London), Matthias Budde, Nikolaus Hofstetter (both Frank¬furt), Michael Boger (Brussels) and Arne Lambrecht (Düsseldorf).

In this transaction, Hengeler Mueller leads an integrated team with the UK law firm Slaughter and May (partners: Simon Nicholls, Stephen Cooke).
