Hengeler Mueller advises TenneT on acquisition of Netz Veltheim

On 3 July 2015 TenneT announced the acquisition of Netz Veltheim GmbH from E.ON Kraftwerke (former share of 66.67 %) and Stadtwerke Bielefeld (former share of 33.33%). Netz Veltheim is an electricity distribution grid operator located in the region of East Westphalia / Lippe.

TenneT acquires a 220 kV extra high voltage electricity grid having a length of approximately 180 kilometres of transmission lines. The acquisition also includes certain parts of transformer stations in Bielefeld Ost, Meißen, Lage and Veltheim as well as transformer stations in Eickum, Bechterdissen and Grohnde. Following the transaction TenneT will be in the position to ensure a single-handed and integrative operation and maintenance of the transmission grid in the region of East Westphalia.
