Hengeler Mueller advises on further securisation of residential real estate in Germany

BGP, a joint venture between Babcock & Brown Group and GPT Group, has completed the securitisation of 19,000 residential units held by several companies (multi-borrower structure). 617.5 million euro residential property backed notes have been issued by Quokka Finance plc.

Hengeler Mueller is advising BGP. Advice is being provided by partners Martin Geiger, Ralph Defren (both Capital Markets) and Ernst-Thomas Kraft (Tax).

Lead manager on this transaction is Barclays Capital.

Back in 2004, Hengeler Mueller had advised on the first ever securitisation of residential real estate in Germany by Viterra and Frankfurter Siedlungsgesellschaft mbH.
