Hengeler Mueller advises HAK on acquisition of a majority stake in Foodeko

09. November 2017

HAK B.V. (“HAK”), an NPM Capital portfolio company, has acquired a majority stake in Foodeko GmbH (“Foodeko”). HAK produces canned food and has already been distributing its products through Foodeko to major retail chains in Germany for several years. The Federal Cartel Office has cleared the transaction.

Hengeler Mueller advised HAK on the transaction. The Hengeler Mueller team was led by partners Thomas Meurer and Martin Ulbrich (both Corporate/M&A, Düsseldorf), Hendrik Bockenheimer (Labour), Daniela Böning (Financing) (both Frankfurt), Alf-Henrik Bischke (Antitrust, Düsseldorf) as well as associates Benedikt Statz (Corporate/M&A), Anja Balitzki, Ye Huo (both Antitrust) (all Düsseldorf), Rudolf Mehl (Financing, Frankfurt) and Florian Hassner (Corporate/M&A, Düsseldorf).

Hengeler Mueller advised NPM Capital on last year’s sale of the portfolio company Continental Bakeries to Goldman Sachs. Prior to the divestment, Hengeler Mueller had advised Continental Bakeries on two transactions; the acquisition of Grabower Group back in 2010 and the acquisition of Stieffenhofer Group back in 2007.
