Hengeler Mueller advises Deutsche Bank AG on the acquisition of parts of ABN AMRO Business Unit Netherlands

On July 2, 2008, Deutsche Bank AG, Fortis and ABN AMRO concluded an agreement by which Deutsche Bank AG will acquire from ABN AMRO parts of its commercial banking activities in the Netherlands for approx. € 700 million in cash.

The business units are part of ABN AMRO Business Unit Netherlands and include two corporate client units as well as 13 commercial advisory branches. Within the scope of this agreement, Deutsche Bank AG will additionally acquire the Rotterdam-based bank Hollandsche Bank Unie N.V. as well as IFN Finance B.V. specialising in factoring.
