After the preceding successful NRW Bonds in the municipal bond segment in the last years, the first Deutschlandanleihe has been successfully placed on the capital market. The transaction is the first joint bond issue of German cities from several federal states. With Bochum, Celle, Emden, Essen and Saarbrücken, municipalities from the federal states North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Saarland participated. The issue volume amounts to EUR 200 million. The supra-regional bond was oversubscribed, has a term of 10 years and an annual fixed coupon of 1%. The supra-regional bond will be listed in the regulated markets of the exchanges in Düsseldorf and Hannover. The issue was subscribed by a banking syndicate under lead of DekaBank, HSBC, NORD/LB and UniCredit.

Hengeler Mueller advised the municipalities on the transaction. The team included partners Hendrik Haag (Capital Markets, Frankfurt) and Dirk Uwer (Public Law, Düsseldorf) as well as associate Dominik Stolz (Capital Markets, Frankfurt).
