Hengeler Mueller advises TUI on IPO of Hapag-Lloyd

Hapag-Lloyd AG (“Hapag-Lloyd”), a leading global container liner shipping company, completed its IPO with the initial listing of its shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on 6 November 2015. Hapag-Lloyd generated proceeds of about EUR 265 m by placing 13,228,677 newly issued shares. TUI AG (“TUI”) placed about 2 million shares from its indirect holding in Hapag-Lloyd as an over-allotment which will generate proceeds of about EUR 40 m if the greenshoe option is fully exercised. TUI continues to hold more than 10% of the shares in Hapag-Lloyd through TUI-Hapag Beteiligungs GmbH. Hapag-Lloyd has around 10,000 employees and offers a comprehensive range of services through an extensive network with 128 liner services worldwide.
