Wolfgang advises corporate clients and financial investors on mergers & acquisitions, primarily cross-border transactions. Another key focus of his practice is international joint ventures and co-investments, in addition to corporate restructurings, particularly in connection with M&A transactions.
In recent transactions he has represented: Curanum AG on the take-over offer by Korian S.A. and the subsequent integration into the Korian group (2012-2014), GE Capital on the sale of its equipment finance and receivables finance business (2015-2016), financial investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) on its team-up with a co-shareholder of WMF AG (2014) and the acquisition of a defence electronics business from Airbus, as well as advising Chinese Weichai Power Co., Ltd. on its investment in Kion (2012-2013) – at that time, the largest direct Chinese investment in Germany.
Earlier highlights include advising: VARTA AG and its majority shareholder Deutsche Bank group on the divestment of several business areas of the VARTA group and subsequently VARTA AG (2002-2011), Rütgers AG (at that time part of the RAG group) on the sale of its plastic business activities (2003-2005), RWE AG on the acquisition of the Dutch Essent group (2008-2009), Nordzucker AG on its acquisition of the sugar business of Danisco and the divestment of a German production site to Cosun (2008-2009).
