Qualifications

Applicants should have demonstrated their legal qualifications by passing the bar exams with honours. The following is also essential. English is the language of the international economy, and it is simply not possible to serve our clients without having excellent knowledge of the English language. Your resume should demonstrate that you not only have excellent academic training but that you have also had diverse experience, for example, by transferring between universities where you have studied, living abroad or being involved in outside activities (culture, sports, politics and the like).

Many of our associates have obtained doctorate degrees or are pursuing a doctorate degree, and many have also studied for a long period of time in English-speaking countries prior to starting their careers. However, neither a doctorate nor an LL.M. are a prerequisite for joining Hengeler Mueller, although we welcome both of these qualifications. Specific knowledge in certain areas of the law is welcome, but not necessary. We assume that most of our associates will not have had any professional experience when they start their careers with us.
